This means quite a lot of work for me and some new free crochet patterns for you. Today I want to share a Hippo Pattern with you. Actually it is a two-in-one. Using cotton dk yarn you’ll get Mummy Hippo and with crochet yarn and a small hook, you’ll make Baby Hippo. I hope, you enjoy crocheting!<\/p>\n

You need:<\/p>\n

Cotton dk yarn in purple<\/p>\n

Crochet yarn in light purple<\/p>\n

Hooks 2.0 and 0.75<\/p>\n

Safety Eyes Sizes 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm<\/p>\n

Soft stuffing<\/p>\n

Abbreviations:<\/p>\n

sc = single crochet<\/p>\n

sl = sling stitch<\/p>\n

ch = chain<\/p>\n

dc = double crochet<\/p>\n

Cut yarn and sew up the leg

1. R: Start between rows 15 & 16 and crochet sl, ch, (leave out one stitch) sl\u00a0 directly to the head<\/p>\n

2. R: bubble stitch with 3 dc into the ch, cut yarn, pull it through and sew it up<\/p>\n

For the left ear start with the back of the hippo turned towards yourself and redo r. 1 & 2
\nNose<\/em><\/p>\n

Start between R. 3 & 4. The backside of the head is turned towards you:<\/p>\n

1. R: sl, sc, sl
\n2. R: 3 sc into the sc of R. 1, sl<\/p>\n

Cut yarn and sew up the end<\/p>\n
