Free Christmas Tree Crochet Pattern

I lately had a huge problem with my blog which made me reinstall and redesign it. And despite the fact that I lost almost all my pictures and am still working on my older posts to make them readable again, I couldn’t let go of my newly found discipline on publishing regularly. So while I am still struggling to upload new images for older patterns, here comes my newest design, which is a cheeky little Christmas Tree. So, no more chattering, let’s start:

You’ll need:

0,5-1 skein of green yarn (as always, I take cotton)

bits and pieces of yarn in a bright color for the garland (I take red) and in black for the face

Crochet hook, which is slightly too small for your yarn (I take 2,5 when 3,5 is recommended)

soft filling

Scissors, needle and everything you need for making yourself comfortable (like a woolen blanket and something hot to drink)

Abbreviations

Cut yarn and sew up the end

Garland

Start at the bottom and crochet 3 sling stitches directly to the tree. They should go up diagonally so you change to round 3 (counting from the bottom. Do one round of sling stitches, then go up diagonally again with 3 sling stitches. Do another round parallel to the first one. Go on doing rounds like that until you reach the top. Then cut yarn and sew up the end.

The garland is crocheted directly to the tree like this

Finally you can embroider a face to the tree as seen in the pictures.
