Today, I want to show you how to crochet the legs for your toothless amigurumi. You can do them in three ways. You can either fasten them with safety joints or sew them onto the body or you can crochet them directly to the body. If you want to do the latter, you will have to use a slightly different pattern, which I give you at the end of this post. But let’s start with the first two possibilities:
Legs
1. R: 6 sc into magic ring
2. R: 2 inc, sc, 2 inc, sc (10 sc)
3. R: 2 sc, 2 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc, sc (14 sc)
4. R: 3 sc, 2 inc, 5 sc, 2 inc, 2 sc (18 sc)
5. – 7. R: 18 sc
8. R: 3 sc, 2 dec, 5 sc, 2 x 2 dec, 2 sc (14 sc)
9. R: 3 sc, 2 dec, 5 sc, 2 dec, 2 sc (12 sc)
(Insert the part of the safety joint with the spike between rounds 3 and 4, now, if you want to use safety joints)
10. – 19. R: 12 sc
20. R: 4 sc, 5 Popcorn-stitches with 4 hdc each, 3 sc
Stuff
21. R: 6 dec
Cut yarn and sew up the end.
You can either fasten the legs with safety joints between rounds 19 and 20 or you sew them onto the body at the same hight.
If you use safety joints, you still have to stuff the body and close it with Round 27 (6 dec) and sew up the end.
If you want to crochet the legs directly to the body, please follow this pattern:
Right leg (seen from your side):
1. R: crochet 16 sc directly to the body in a little square starting at round 16 counting down from the arm
2. R: 16 sc
3. R: 5 sc, 2 x 3 sc into next stitch, sc, 4 dec (16 sc)
4. R: 6 sc, 3 sc into next stitch, 5 sc, 2 dec (16 sc)
5. R: 2 dec, 8 sc, 2 dec (12 sc)
8. – 17. R: 12 sc
20. R: 2 Popcorn-stitches with 4 hdc each (12 M)
Stuff
21. R: 6 x 2 dec
Cut yarn and sew up the end.
Use the same pattern for the other leg, exept of round 3 and 20 which you do as follows:
3. R: dec, 3 sc, 2 x 3 stitches into next stitch, 3 sc, 3 dec (16 sc)
20. R: 6 sc, 5 Popcorn-stitches with 4 hdc each, sc (12 stitches)
